METAVARSITY'S LEARNER
PORTAL
The Learner Portal is MetaVarsity's online e-learning system
that connects learners to their facilitator, learning materials and
online assessments. To get the best out of using the system, read
through the instructions and guidelines below. Click on the images to
zoom in.
1) Login to the Learner Portal
You receive your username and password in your Welcome Letter
that is sent when your access to the system is activated. You can
change your
username and password at a later stage.
2) View
Courses and Modules
Available
Once you login to the Learner Portal you can change some of
your details or you can view the courses and modules available to you.
Please only use the e-mail facility once you have logged into a module.
3) Login to Your Module
Now you can see all the courses and modules you can log into.
To access your module, click the module name to enter that module.
4) View Module Menu
The module menu page allows you access to view: the welcome
page, the module outline, all assessments for the module and which ones
have been completed, the digital library categories and items, and any
news articles (on the right).
5) Download Course Materials from
Resource Library
E-workbooks, resources and applicable audio downloads are
available for you in the Resource Library. Choose your category and
item, and then download the file.
6) View Available
Assessments
Here you can view all the assessments available for your
module. With an exception for tutorial-based distance learners, you can
only access the next assessment once your previous one has been
uploaded, assessment and published by your facilitator. To download
your marked assessments, go to "View Results" instead.
7) Download and Upload Assessments
Download your assessment onto your PC by clicking "Download
Assessment". Save the file onto your PC, complete the exercises and
upload your completed assessment by clicking "Upload Updated Answer".
Click "Submit Now".
8) Mail Your Facilitator
If you would like to connect with your facilitator, ask them
some questions, or request support, send them a mail through the
Learner Portal. Click on their name on the right to address it to them
and type your mail. Do NOT type their e-mail address or name into the
"To" field. Click "Send".
9) Share Your Thoughts on the Discussion
Board
Do you have some thoughts or questions for your fellow
learners on the module you are currently on? Post your ideas on the
Discussion Board and interact with your fellow community.
