Reiki was developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui and has since been passed down from master to student. There exist two major traditions of Reiki, respectively called Traditional Japanese Reiki and Western Reiki. Traditional Japanese Reiki is used to describe Usui’s original teachings while Western Reiki uses of set hand patterns for internal treatments instead of the intuitive skill of “knowing where to place the hands”. There is much variation in training methods, speed of completion and costs.
MetaVarsity’s Usui Reiki has been structured in the Traditional Japanese method. When you register, you will receive attunement by a MetaVarsity Affiliated Reiki Master in your area.
